Наша команда MK Sustainable Engineering успішно забезпечила отримання сертифіката BREEAM International New Construction (Interim Design Stage) з високою оцінкою Good для дилерського центру Volvo.

The MK Sustainable Engineering team has successfully secured the BREEAM International New Construction (Interim Design Stage) certificate with a Good rating for the Volvo Car Dealership. Registered in October 2021, the project faced a force majeure pause due to the outbreak of war against Ukraine and the temporary suspension of BRE Global services. Following the reinstatement of certification procedures, the project team successfully finalized the technical design evaluation and completed the audit.
A unique challenge of this project was the ecological preparation of the site. The ecological survey identified a massive, widespread infestation of an invasive plant species - Canadian goldenrod (Solidago canadensis) - covering approximately 30% of the active construction zone. While visually striking, this plant is a highly aggressive alien transformer species in Ukraine that chemically suppresses native flora and poses severe allergen risks to future visitors and staff, necessitating strict biological remediation and thermal disposal.
Some sustainable features of the project include:
- Functional Adaptability. The building is designed to accommodate future transformations into offices, banks, restaurants, or event halls without significant structural intervention.
- Structural Flexibility: Internal load-bearing columns feature a regular square profile (400x400 mm), which significantly simplifies and reduces the cost of future spatial reorganizations.
- Design for Deconstruction: Over 90% of the facade utilizes modular sandwich panels installed with dry mechanical connections, ensuring components can be easily dismantled and reused, thereby minimizing construction waste.
